Daniel, your reply quoted me saying my wife bought a watch and then you said
this basically reads “i am so f’ing fed up with Apple, they think they are above the law, and I can’t even…. ohh, let’s buy that Apple watch.”
So yes, it did and still does suggest to me that I should have some say on whether or not my wife buys an apple product. She is perfectly entitled and capable of making her own choices.
Speaking of jumping to conclusions, if you actually read the article, you’d see that I don’t say I’m going to stop buying Apple products myself. I wish it was easy for me not to. But it’s not, and I explain why it would be hard for me to move away from macOS. But my last phone was a Samsung though, after years of iPhones so they lost out there.
I’m not cutting my own nose off to spite my face. There is a time and a place for not spending money with companies. I wrote this article as a protest and so others could use their judgement based on my experience. Quite a few have said they will avoid Apple because of it. That’s their choice.
My business partner’s Macbook died last night. I am responsible for IT buying. She doesn’t need a Macbook. This time last year, I would have replaced it with another Macbook. Now I’m not going to. I’m getting her a Windows laptop instead, at a third of the price.
So Apple’s treatment of me has cost them money directly from me and my company, and also from some people who have read this article.
