Maybe you didn’t actually read the story properly, but I didn’t abuse the laptop in any way at all. It was a design flaw that Apple finally accepted after a LONG time.

Of course my treatment isn’t the norm for everyone — I never claimed it was. If it was, Apple would be bankrupt.

But what I described happened. And if you read the 200+ comments, you will see I am not the only one who has had problems with Apple. They are not consistently perfect at all.

Sorry I can’t match your 45 years experience, I’m only 46 but I do have 36 years computer experience (and I think I sold my first program about 34 years ago, so most of that was ‘professional’ …). But still, congratulations on the year of your birth. It must be a great source of pride for you.

Oh, and I’m having another problem with them right now. The replacement machine that I had to have repaired developed a keyboard fault some months ago which I reported and they tried to fix with a can of air... (yes, that COULD have been the problem, but it wasn’t). Finally a couple of weeks ago the problem became very bad and one of the keys even broke off (some others have no bounce).

Now it is being treated under UK consumer law and they are replacing it with a new one. But it’s taken a week from when that was agreed (last Friday) to today — and three senior advisors — to get finally get it properly booked in their system…

And now it will be the end of the month before it arrives. But that’s a story I intend to write about when I finally get it and get the more than 3K GBP I’ve just had to give them temporarily for them to ship the new one to me before I can ship this one back… you know, just in case I decided to scam them and keep the crappy laptop that the Apple store here has confirmed is broken (again).

And yes, you’re right, I do complain well. Why is that a problem? Do you just bend over?

But no, you’re wrong, my dissatisfaction has helped other people including people who had the same problem I did and who went on to get it resolved.

Thanks so much for your input.
