No, they really do, for two reasons

  1. Since I wrote this, the ‘repaired’ machine died again and they had no legal choice but to offer a like-for-like replacement with the current model. But because they took weeks to arrange it, I used my consumer law rights to get a full refund instead. I used the money to buy a Chromebook and a MUCH more powerful desktop pc, plus studio monitors and a 4k monitor — for the same price — and am now running Hackintosh on it.
  2. If you look through the comments, lots of people have said things like ‘I was just about to buy one, but I’m not going to now. Thanks!’
