Sorry that doesn’t help me feel better in any way at all. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sorry for the people in countries like this and passionately believe things should change, but I don’t live in those countries. My expectations are based on where I live and I live in Europe where we have decent consumer laws.

My complaint in this article is not about the inequality in the world (which, in terms of many/most developing countries you could fairly place a lot of historic blame on Europe) — but with Apple’s refusal to act both morally and legally by the EU’s laws, without a LOT of arguing.

And just for reference, we get screwed over here too.

In the US, the cost of a current top spec 15" macbook pro is 4199 USD.

In the UK, where I bought the ones in this article, the same machine costs the equivalent of 5344 USD.

In Spain, where I live now, it costs the equivalent of 5844 USD.
