Sorry to disappoint, but nothing like that at all.
Was I frustrated at points, hell yes. Was I forceful about my consumer rights? Yes, absolutely, especially when told false information by Apple staff.
Did I shout and swear at staff? No. Was I abusive to staff? No.
In terms of how many — a lot.
From the manager and at least 5 other staff at the Malaga store at various times, to the manager and at least 5 others in the Manchester store — plus 4 — maybe 5 — senior advisors JUST at the final stage of the saga, plus at least 2 main senior advisors during the previous issues last year who both dealt with me long-term for different issues.
I also had an experience in a store in London when trying to get a replacement for a broken power supply which I’ve mentioned before (not sure if it was in an article or a reply) but long story short, they acted like idiots, nearly made me miss a flight, and in the end I was right — as I knew from the moment I said “Hello!” and I walked out with a free replacement — but with much less respect for Apple. And I just made my flight.
On the whole the senior advisors on the phone are good. Very friendly, knowledgable, keen to help— but hamstrung by the fact they have limited access to the internet… :(
Had some good chats with a couple of them as well (to the point of us reminiscing about computers from our youth — we were roughly the same age — and even politics like Brexit and Trump — generally while waiting for processes to happen, I should add, not just for the sake of it!)
During the recent episode, while I was trying to pay for another macbook while I returned the broken one — before giving up on that - I spoke to so many senior advisors because there were so many errors made and they all have different days off. One just didn’t call back, which was bad. But then it was mainly because the last guy was off that day so I ended up with someone else who took the case over.
Of course staff shouldn’t be abused by customers, but staff shouldn’t also treat all customers badly because some customers treat them badly.
