Sorry to hear that Ajay. That’s one of the reasons I wrote all this (apart from the benefits of catharsis). Other people have had the same problem. This IS a fault with this model — or, at least, with some of the ones from the first few months of production.
Senior Apple advisors have accepted this on the phone to me and even given me a fault code for the problem (not a unique code for me, a generic one).
When I’ve mentioned it to in-store staff after that, most staff agreed they knew about the problem and it was affecting a lot of people.
Yet… it’s still not listed on the Exchange and Repair Extension Programs page.
So it seems they are still keeping it quiet, charging for repairs, and only replacing or repairing for free when people are prepared to go through the level of crap and stress I was until they finally admit it.
Shame on Apple.
