You seem to have missed the point of my article.
I’m fully aware of the dangers of buying first-generation products (although frankly the MBP with touch bar isn’t exactly a revolution over previous models. If Apple can’t add a tiny touchscreen bar to a keyboard without all these problems then they aren’t as clever as they, and others, think they are).
The problem I had, and the problem I see for Apple, is how poor their customer service has become.
It’s one thing having problems with a new product, it’s another thing treating good customers — who’ve spent thousands upon thousands — like crap.
